Ending the year tired and beginning something quietly important

December always arrives with a strange weight.

By the time the year slows, most of us are running on empty carrying projects across the line, closing loops, keeping promises we made months ago. This year was no different. It was full. Demanding. Stretching.

And yet, somewhere in that tiredness, a decision emerged.

Instead of switching off completely, I’ve chosen to switch inward.

Over the holiday break, I’ve begun writing the book.

Not in a dramatic, cinematic way but quietly. Early mornings. Long walks. Notes scribbled between family time and sea air. Writing not as pressure, but as rest. Writing as a way of untangling ideas that have been forming for years.

There’s something grounding about beginning a long journey when the world itself slows down. No deadlines. No noise. Just the discipline of showing up to the page and seeing what reveals itself.

This book has been waiting patiently. And perhaps I have too.

As the year closes, I’m deeply grateful for the conversations, the collaborations, the challenges, and the lessons that only exhaustion can teach you. Sometimes the most meaningful work doesn’t begin with energy, but with honesty.

Here’s to finishing the year tired and starting the next one with intention.

Warmly,

Brad
