Aurenloch Quality Council

AQC

Our internal framework for evaluating, communicating, and standing behind the quality of every wine that carries the Aurenloch name.

What Is the AQC

An Internal Standard for Quality

The Aurenloch Quality Council is our internal framework for evaluating, communicating, and standing behind the quality of every wine that carries the Aurenloch name.

The AQC does not replace the role of winemakers, estates, or industry certification bodies. It exists alongside them as Aurenloch's own commitment to transparency, consistency, and informed recommendation.

What the AQC Evaluates

Six Pillars of Evaluation

01 Origin Where the wine comes from the estate, region, and specific vineyard source.
02 Craftsmanship The skill, intention, and attention applied in both the vineyard and the cellar.
03 Consistency Whether the wine reliably delivers on its stated character and style across vintages.
04 Style Integrity Whether the wine honestly represents the style it is positioned within on the Style Compass.
05 Value Whether the wine represents fair value relative to its Cost of Creation level and its peers.
06 Occasion Fit Whether the wine genuinely suits the occasions it is recommended for within the Aurenloch framework.
What the AQC Is Not

The AQC is not a points system.

The Aurenloch Quality Council does not score wines out of 100 or rank them against each other. It exists to ensure that every wine recommended within the Aurenloch platform has been evaluated against a consistent internal standard.

The Aurenloch Quality Council exists in service of the person selecting the wine not in service of producers, scores, or prestige. Its only purpose is to ensure that every recommendation made within Aurenloch is one we are prepared to stand behind.
