Wine-growing regions of Argentina

Argentina's finest wines come from Mendoza, at the foot of the Andes, where altitude rather than latitude defines the climate. In the Uco Valley, vineyards climb from 900 to over 1,700 metres, and the resulting diurnal temperature swing — sometimes 20°C between day and night — gives Argentine Malbec its concentration and aromatic precision.
